Mulberry TREES for sale!! Not seedlings, but woody 2-5 year old saplings. Ranging from 2 feet to 5 feet tall. Limited quantity. Shipped from now till week of May 18th.
Many of you have asked me to obtain mulberry trees for you and now I've got them! Field grown.
These are native raised mulberry trees found from around my parent's neighborhood and I can only get them on Saturdays and ship the following week, using shipping method of your choice. They have already leafed out and the root ball is dug out from the ground with its native soil wrapped in plastic bag to retain moisture. It is unknown as to what type of mulberry tree it is, but I personally guarantee it is a mulberry tree and that your silkworms will eat it. They come with beautiful, tender and PERFECT leaves, most of which are glossy and unlobed (heart shaped) at this point. Their parent tree is a suspected red mulberry tree, however, even with white mulberry trees it is unknown if their offsprings will produce white fruits, or if any fruits at all. Shipping cost will be higher due to the inclusion of dirt and there is no guarantee on shipping. (You will be sent a picture of the tree prior to shipping.) However, it has been said, it is impossible to kill a mulberry tree. From where I dug out these trees, for sure there will be a new sapling next season. These trees are at least 2 years old, with well developed roots. They are obviously seed grown and are not cultivated from cuttings. You are paying for the scouting of the field, labor for digging, and for handling. You may also choose to mail it bare root tied up in plastic with water to save on shipping cost. But there is just no guarantee with what happens during shipping. To avoid summer heat, and to ensure the plant is of optimal size for shipping, I am only doing this from May 1st to week of May 18th as the temperature is still mild. When the leaves fill out, it will mean it is too late to ship as the weather would've gotten too hot. (This is why these trees don't look luscious, yet.) You will be sent a picture of the exact tree prior to shipping. Or you can wait till the trees go dormant in October and take NO risk in shipping. If you live in a warmer climate, the tree will come out of dormancy fairly quickly and grow lush for you in no time. In hotter climates, these trees may not even lose their leaves in the winter! Quantity is limited in the 2-3 foot tree range, but there are older trees available that will cost substantially more in digging up. Please email me directly at [email protected] for a particular size/priced tree that you want. As to how many trees you need to grow 100 silkworms from egg to cocoons, you will need 50 mini trees like this at this current size.
Here is a link on how fast a mulberry plant grew in FL weather So, if you order 3, in a few years it will look like this one in FL which should be enough for strictly for feeders for an entire season. NOTE: I am the only seller who provides pictures of the actual plant and tell you where it comes from. If you look elsewhere, THEY DO NOT tell you the source or the propagation method of the plants; whether they are seedlings or saplings or cuttings. There is a HUGE difference in the speed of how these plants grow! Seedlings will take you forever and the stem is still green (very vulnerable), cuttings will give TRUE to the parent plant but takes a while to force new branches and the leaves are tougher but will yield fruits in 2-3 years if it is a fruiting one. Cuttings usually take another extra season to fully establish due to weaker root system. 2-3 yr old saplings grow the fastest in height and yield the most tender leaves!

$9.99 and up, starting with trees between 2 and 3 feet tall, as pictured. Take all 3 of for $25. Limited Supplies. For larger trees, please email [email protected]. Three (3) of these trees are ready to ship this week. For larger trees, they may be trimmed down for shipping, but you'll see what it looks like. Trimming down the tree forces new shoots. All bushes should be trimmed down as the season ends to ensure you get more luscious shoots next season. They are called invasive for that reason: never seem to go away! Only come back stronger year after year. Please resort to this video on cultivating mulberry trees just for silkworms.
